In Sunday's 2025 final in Ottawa, Canada, the United States of America won their second consecutive IIHF Ice Hockey U20 Men's World Championship by defeating Finland 4-3 in overtime.
At the end of the regular season, the score was 3-3. In overtime, Teddy Stiga scored the game-winning goal, giving the United States its seventh World Junior Hockey Championship trophy. Seven minutes into the play, Finland took the lead when Jesse Kiiskinen put the puck in the back of the goal. They were aiming for their sixth gold medal.
However, the United States got back to square in five minutes when James Hagens scored off a rebound after Petteri Rimpinen saved the ball.
